The highly compact DIMMBoard DX86 with a credit card size of just 68 x 40 mm is the first computer module to integrate the extremely energy-efficient Vortex86DX processor without its own graphics controller, making it ideal for headless applications as a central "computing powerhouse". Except for a few details, the module is form-fit and functionally compatible with the SODIMM 144 pin socket of the Kontron DIMM-PC® module specification.
Why choose DIMMBoard DX86?
In the fast-moving world of technology, we always focus on the long-term availability of our products. Since 2011, we have had the DIMMBoard DX86 in our product portfolio and until at least the end of 2028 we can guarantee availability. In addition, we have an exclusive stock of the essential but no longer available DIMMBoard socket, which is required for CPU operation.
The DX86 DIMMBoard conforms closely to the DIMM-PC® module specification and is fit and function compatible. It uses the Vortex86DX, a high-performance System on Chip (SoC) from DMP that features a Floating Point Unit (FPU). The SoC is x86-compatible and supports clock frequency of up to 1.0 GHz.
The board enables fully passively cooled operation without a heat sink at clock frequencies of up to 600 MHz. This results in an extremely low installation space requirement. The board's low power consumption and extended temperature range make it ideal for mobile embedded devices.
The DIMMBoard offers a wide portfolio of peripheral interfaces and functions, enabling various application possibilities. Extensive driver and software support is available for popular embedded operating systems. In addition, the OnBoard FLASH drive is designed as a microSD card slot, allowing the size of the media to be scaled according to the requirements of the application. Furthermore, USB (4 pin) and optionally IDE (40 pin) are realized via a feature connector.
